A thriller is a genre of film that uses suspense, tension and excitement to build the film up and they usually have a dramatic end or sequal. Most psychological thrillers are often Gothic or detective fiction in the sense of sometimes having a "dissolving sense of reality", moral ambiguity, and complex and tortured relationships between obsessive and pathological characters. They often encorporate aspects of mystery, drama, action and horror. Some good examples of Psychological thrillers are The gift, Jacobs ladder and Seven.
