Psychological Thriller

Dictionary.com definition
"...a suspenseful movie or book emphasizing the psychology of its characters rather than the plot; this subgenre of thriller movie or book -- Example: In a psychological thriller, the characters are exposed to danger on a mental level rather than a physical one...."

Our film in regards to narritive is definitely of the psycological thriller genre. Our film follows the mental breakdown of a writer who is struggling to complete his novel. As the story progresses his mental state breaks down until he becomes a danger to himself and a series of strange occurences follows. He begins to hallucinate, become paranoid, lose track of time and struggle to differentiate between two realities. The narrative is similar to films such as Pi, The Machinist and The Shining. Although the genre has somehwhat a unique visual style, we are blending the narrative within this genre with the visuals of Film Noir.
