Story Idea 2

Story Idea 2

I would consider the genre Sci-Fi, but it would not include any elements that may be considered to be of the fantasy or action/thriller genre. The tone would NOT be comparable to popular, action driven Sci-Fis such as The Terminator and most superhero films.

Set in a post apocalyptic world a young boy (around 10-17), tries to survive from various threats. From the general dangers of the environment to a range of foes who have occupied the uninhabited landscape.

Rough Plot:
The young boy (name undecided) has set up his tent on a baron landscape. He has set up a fire, and appears to be making a meal with various supplies. He notices movement in the distance and, naturally, becomes quite concerned and gathers his things. He then seeks cover behind (either behind a pile of rubble, in an abandoned building or in some shrubbery). Using various equipment, such as binoculars and other devices that he has scavenged or even crafted himself (this may include making props ourselves). [Protagonist] soon finds out who/what they are at sees an opportunity to scavenge more supplies. The two bodies notice [protagonist's] fire and cautiously approach to investigate. [Protagonist] waits for them to get close, one drops their bag of supplies as they begin searching the tent and surrounding area. [Protagonist] quickly runs past picking up the bag as he passes and gets into more cover. He then attempts to draw one of the two towards him (by either whistling or throwing a stone etc.). The two confer for a moment and it is clearly decided that one will go to find the source of the noise whilst the other continues looking in [protagonist's] tent. As one of them approach the general area in which [protagonist] is hiding, he draws them in further. When close, [protagonist] slashes his calf causing him to bend down, then continuous to hit him over the head with a brick, knocking him unconscious. However, this disturbs the other of the two strangers and he promptly make sense of the situation (from the missing bag and noticing his friend is no longer around) and sees [protagonist] fleeing. He draws a gun and aims at [protagonist]; he hits him in the leg and causes him to fall down a banking. The stranger quickly runs to the area where [protagonist] seemed to fall. After a while of searching, [protagonist] emerges behind him and limps off (the bullet hit him in the leg). [Protagonist] takes up the quick opportunity to patch up his leg. He makes his way back towards his camp (he is now quite far away from it but within distance of it). He sees the the two now conversing as one of them holds their head due to the incident. [Protagonist] limps away towards a hedge of trees to (hopeful) freedom. One of the strangers look up from afar and notice the boy make his way into the trees. End.

I would stress that the sequence where the young boy knocks one of the strangers unconscious is not graphic or action packed in any way. The general tone of the film is intended to be quite bleak and not over the top at all.
